Eco Van Lines
Rating
Frustrating, but everything made it.
This was a bit of a strange experience. I hired eco van lines, but a truck with another name picked up and it turned out that the company I was dealing with was Proud American Moving.
1. The movers were late picking up, but very nice.
2. They made a big deal of not charging me for the extra feet they had to carry my stuff to the truck - but if they hadn't been so late they wouldn't have missed being able to use the loading dock.
3. They took the time to wrap up a couple items to give some extra padding - but charged me $175 for three large boxes and some tape - that took no more than 5 minutes to finish job.
4. The stuff made it to Oregon in one piece, with no damage - but they said they would bring it on the 8th and it didn't arrive until the 26th.
5. The customer service wasn't the best. It was a little hard contacting people, but I usually got someone.
6. The move ended up costing $900 more than first thought, but I did have more items. And I was told the price before they loaded up, so I guess I could have refused.
All in all, it was a frustrating experience - mostly because I had no idea when the stuff was going to come. I didn't need it that bad, but it would have been nice to have had a better idea as to when the truck would arrive. But nothing was missing or damaged, so I was pleased with that. I probably wouldn't hire them again, but I'm not scarred by the experience.
